About this website

This site is operated by Pawfessional Connections. It provides information about the organisation and its events, lets you register your interest in attending, and hosts a directory of member businesses.

Registrations

Registering your interest is not a confirmed booking. Until ticketing is live, a registration tells us you would like to come and lets us contact you with details. Places are limited by venue capacity, and we will confirm your place directly.

Event details

Dates, venues, times and prices marked as coming soon are not confirmed. Once confirmed, details may still change for reasons outside our control, and we will tell registered attendees as soon as we know.

Conduct at events

These are professional networking events. We expect everyone to treat other attendees with courtesy and respect. We reserve the right to ask anyone behaving abusively to leave.

Directory listings

Anyone running a pet business or working in the pet industry may apply for a listing. Every listing is checked before it appears, so applying is not the same as being listed.

• Community is free and shows your business name, town and category.
• Professional is a paid annual membership, priced on what you need. It adds your logo, a profile page of your own, your service area, a description of your business, your services and the animals you work with, and your contact details.
• Professional Plus adds your website and social links, a photo gallery, your qualifications and accreditations, featured placement in the directory, and priority promotion through our social media and events.

You are responsible for what is in your listing. Keep it accurate and up to date, only claim qualifications, accreditations and insurance you actually hold, and do not list services you are not qualified or licensed to provide.

You must own, or have permission to use, every image you upload, and they must be appropriate for a public professional directory. We may remove an image without removing the rest of a listing.

The standards we expect

The directory only means anything if the businesses in it can be trusted. By being listed you confirm that you and anyone working for you:

• treat animals humanely, and do not use methods that cause avoidable pain, fear or distress;
• hold any licence, registration, qualification or insurance the law or your trade requires, and keep them current;
• describe your services, experience and credentials honestly, to us and to the public;
• treat clients, animals, other members and the public with respect, and do not harass, abuse or discriminate against anyone — in person or online;
• comply with the law, including animal welfare legislation.

Refusing, suspending and removing a listing

We may refuse an application, or suspend or end a membership and remove a listing, where we consider the standards above are not being upheld. That includes conduct outside this website, and conduct that took place before you joined if we learn of it afterwards.

Normally we will raise the concern with you first and give you a fair opportunity to respond before deciding. Where the concern is serious — animal welfare, safety, or anything that would damage the reputation of the network — we may suspend a listing immediately while we look into it. A suspended listing is hidden from the directory straight away.

The decision is ours, taken in good faith. We are not able to act as a regulator, we cannot investigate every complaint, and we will not share the details of a decision with other members.

You can end your membership at any time. Where a membership ends, the full listing details stop being published; tell us if you would like them deleted outright rather than kept for a possible return.

Reviews

Anyone who has used a listed business may leave a review. Write about your own experience as a customer, honestly and in your own words. Do not post anything you know to be untrue, anything about a person rather than the service, or anything you were paid or asked to write — by the business or by a competitor.

Every review is read before it appears. We may decline to publish one, or remove it later, without being obliged to explain why — most often because it is not about a real transaction, because it makes an allegation we cannot stand behind, or because it is abusive. Declining to publish a review is not a judgement that it is false.

A listed business may ask us to pass on a reply, which we will publish alongside the review. If a business believes a review is false, tell us and we will look at it again; we may put you in touch with the reviewer or take the review down while we do.

Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them. We do not verify the facts in them, and publishing one is not an endorsement of what it says. Your email address is never published — we hold it so that a disputed review can be traced to a real person.

A listing is not an endorsement

Being in this directory is not a recommendation, a guarantee of quality, or confirmation that anyone’s qualifications, licences or insurance have been verified. Qualifications are as supplied by each business and are shown on that basis. Please satisfy yourself that any business is right for you and your animal before engaging them. Any arrangement you make is between you and that business, and we are not a party to it.

If you have a concern about a member, tell us. We would rather know.

Membership and payments

Professional and Professional Plus are annual memberships, quoted against what your business needs, paid in advance and renewing each year until you cancel. Where payment is taken by card it is handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages — we never see or hold your card details.

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your listing stays as it is until the end of the period you have paid for, then reverts to Community. Nothing you have written is deleted when that happens — it simply stops being published, and returns if you rejoin.

Memberships are priced against what a business needs rather than from a published list, so your price is the one we quoted and you accepted. We will tell you before a renewal at a different price, and you are free to cancel rather than accept it.

If we end a membership because the standards above were not upheld, the remainder of the year is not refunded. If we end it for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of the year.

Event ticketing is not open yet. Ticket payment, refund and cancellation terms will be published here before it is.

Accuracy

We keep the information here as accurate as we can, but make no guarantee that everything is complete or current at all times. That includes listings, which are maintained by the businesses themselves.
